What are Meta Tags?
In the Mark-up of the text, Meta tags include details on the web page. Such detail is called “metadata” and can be accessed by search engines and web-browsers even though it is not shown on the website itself. Search engines like Google use metadata for ranking purposes.
Examples of meta-tags include the elements < title> and < description>.
Meta tags reflect the start of most SEO workouts, for better or worse. One of the first items dissected in every web analysis is the abuse of Meta tags, primarily because they appear in the header at the top of the website and are thus the first item to be noticed. Yet, we don’t want to be too negative; Meta tags are some of the strongest resources in the arsenal of a search marketer.

Meta description – One major purpose is to describe the page to searchers when they are reading the SERPs. The tag will not adjust the score, but irrespective of whether it’s really relevant. It is the ad copy that decides how users click on the product.
