23 keywords in a blog post does not mean it will rank well

According to SEO point of view, the same question is asked in different ways: “how many keywords should a post have?”

It seems the writing world is fashioned towards having a robust keyword density. Every webmaster,and experts alike are looking to use an exact number or percentage of keywords for their web pages. Unfortunately, when it boils down to search engine traffic generations, a robust keyword density is useless.

In order to be of help to anyone and everyone in search of an answer to the question, here are few steps useful for writing SEO-friendly content.

Discarding keyword density
No SEO expert can say for sure the ideal percentage of keywords for generating traffic as there are no common ground known for keyword density and how much organic traffic is generated by a page or post. It is important to note that keywords matter, they do but they are often overhyped. In addition, it is worthy to note that other factors aside keyword density should be considered.

Keywords matter
I can efficaciously argue that search engines are now more interested in the purpose of the keywords in the content rather than the keywords themselves. Hence, for absolute result, it’s expedient that your keywords are used in explaining the subject matter not just for “keywords” sake.

Keyword research
The keywords to be used must have been researched properly to meet the reason for the content. The terms must fit in to the purpose of the content else it will lead to wasted effort.

Disregarding ‘ideal word count’
There is no concrete rule to the number of words your content needs. If a post idea can be communicated effectively with less words, why use more words? In the end, it all comes down to evaluating each case differently and understanding their different needs. Here are few tips to help you in deciding the appropriate word count.

• Purpose: The word count of a post from its “reason”. It is only logical that a blog post usuallyhas more word count than the landing page for an ad.

• Competition: There are times when the word count depends on what other thriving competitors are doing. If their word count is less, you need to reduce your’s too.

• SEO: Contents that flow naturally are better for SEO.

Driving conversions
SEOs and webmasters should be concerned with conversing with users rather than increasing their SEO programs.

Know your audience
Understanding the users you are communicating with as well as their needs will help you achieve the success you desire. Knowing what users are looking for and the type of solutions they desire will help to write contents that meet their needs and make them come back.

Creativity and originality sells! In order to stand out, you must be original in your content.
